After a few months of chasing followed by 3 days of contract negotiations and a two hour extension on the negotiating window, the Mets have a deal in place with Johan Santana. Although details haven't been released yet, rumor has it the extension is for 6 years and 137.5 million with 7 million dollars added to the final year of his current deal which expires after the season earning Santana about 158 million over the next 7 years in total.

Santana will take a physical tomorrow morning after which the deal will be official. Expect a press conference sometime next week, I'm guessing Wednesday, formally introducing Santana to the Mets faithful.
