The Washington Nationals inked 6'11'' Right hander, John Rauch to a two year deal. Rauch accumulated 33 holds last season for the Nats as the primary setup man and could be the future closer.
Fantasy Impact:
Rauch has been one of the most consistent pitchers on the Nationals since they moved to Washington and he could follow in the footsteps of many set up men and become the closer. This will allow the Nationals some wiggle room with Chad Cordero in the future. Rauch was 8-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 2007 and could prove valuable as a holds guy and possibly as a closer if Cordero is shipped off somewhere after the All Star Break.
